Es hat eine ganze Weile gedauert, bis ich wirklich verstanden habe, worauf es beim Mixing ankommt.
Am Anfang dachte ich – wie viele wahrscheinlich – dass der Sound vor allem von Plugins, teurer Hardware oder irgendwelchen geheimen Tricks abhängt.
Heute sehe ich das komplett anders.
Der entscheidende Punkt ist kein neues Tool, sondern ein sauberes Balancing der Spuren und vor allem die Automation.
Denn ein statischer Mix bleibt immer nur ein Kompromiss. Erst durch Automation wird ein Song lebendig.
Vocals setzen sich genau dort durch, wo sie müssen.
Gitarren treten zurück, wenn sie Platz machen sollen.
Drums bekommen genau die Energie, die der Moment verlangt.
Automation ist das, was aus einem guten Mix einen dynamischen, fühlenden Song macht.
Plugins sind Werkzeuge.

It took me quite a while to truly understand what mixing is really about.
In the beginning, I thought – like many others – that great sound comes from plugins, expensive gear, or secret tricks.
Now I see it completely differently.
It’s not about tools. It’s about clean balancing and most importantly automation.
A static mix will always be a compromise. Automation is what brings a track to life.
Vocals cut through exactly when they need to.
Guitars step back to create space.
Drums hit with the right energy at the right moment.
Automation turns a mix into something dynamic and emotional.
Plugins are tools.
Automation is control.
