Lange hat es gedauert, bis meine CD von Pizza Death – World Doughmination im Briefkasten lag – aber das Warten hat sich definitiv gelohnt.
Passend zum typischen Pizza-Death Wahnsinn ist das Artwork wieder komplett on point: Pizza, Trash und totaler Irrsinn ziehen sich konsequent durch – nicht nur durchs Cover, sondern durch die gesamte Verpackung bis hin zur CD selbst. Überall verstecken sich kleine Anspielungen, Details und Gimmicks. Genau so macht ein physischer Tonträger Spaß – das Auge hört hier definitiv mit.
Musikalisch liefert die Band genau das, was man erwartet (und will): 20 ultrakurze Tracks voller Crossover Thrash, Hardcore und Fastcore – schnell, dreckig und ohne Umwege.
World Doughmination ist keine Neuerfindung, sondern eine konsequente Weiterentwicklung – noch tighter, noch kompakter und mit genau der richtigen Portion Humor.
Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die auf schnellen, kompromisslosen Crossover stehen.
It took a while for my Pizza Death – World Doughmination CD to finally land in my mailbox – but it was absolutely worth the wait.
True to Pizza Death’s chaotic style, the artwork is once again spot on: pizza, trash, and total madness run through everything – not just the cover, but the entire packaging and even the CD itself. It’s packed with little references, details, and gimmicks everywhere. This is exactly how physical media should feel – a real experience where the visuals matter.
Musically, the band delivers exactly what you expect (and want): 20 ultra-short tracks packed with crossover thrash, hardcore, and fastcore – fast, dirty, and straight to the point.
World Doughmination isn’t reinventing the wheel, but it’s a consistent evolution – tighter, more compact, and with just the right amount of humor.
