Ende der 80er war Agnostic Front eine der ersten Hardcore-Bands, die ich für mich entdeckt habe. Ihr Sound, ihr Style und ihre kompromisslose Energie haben mich nachhaltig geprägt. Irgendwann selbst zur Gitarre und ans Mikrofon zu greifen, war auch eine Folge davon.
Jetzt stand ich in Essen wieder vor dieser Band.
Was mich am meisten beeindruckt hat, war nicht nur ihre Energie nach all den Jahren, sondern das Gefühl von Zusammenhalt zwischen Band und Publikum.
Ein Satz von Roger Miret ist mir besonders hängen geblieben:
„Gebt eurem Nachbarn links und rechts die Hand und werdet Freunde. Das hier ist das reale Leben und kein Social-Media-Bullshit.“
Genau dafür kann Musik stehen: Gemeinschaft, Energie und echte Begegnungen.
Vielleicht ist das auch ein Teil dessen, warum ich heute noch Musik mache.
Mit Untamed Rage machen wir die Musik, die uns selbst seit Jahrzehnten begleitet und geprägt hat.
Denn am Ende geht es um mehr als Sound.
Es geht darum, etwas zu fühlen. Und es miteinander zu teilen.
Back in the late ’80s, Agnostic Front were one of the first hardcore bands I discovered. Their sound, style and uncompromising energy left a lasting mark on me. Eventually picking up a guitar and grabbing a microphone myself was part of that influence.
Now, decades later, I found myself standing in front of the band again in Essen.
What impressed me most was not just their energy after all these years, but the sense of unity between band and crowd.
One thing Roger Miret said really stuck with me:
“Give the person on your left and right a handshake and become friends. This is real life, not social media bullshit.”
That’s what music can be about: community, energy and real encounters.
Maybe that’s also part of why I’m still making music today.
