Erst reparieren, dann optimieren.
Bevor ich mir neue Hardware oder ein neues Instrument zulege, möchte ich erst einmal schauen, was ich mit meinem vorhandenen Equipment noch verbessern kann.
Bei meiner Jackson war eine der normalen Stimmmechaniken nicht mehr richtig funktionsfähig. Also habe ich die Gelegenheit genutzt und gleich Locking Tuner montiert.
Ich habe mich für die günstige Variante von Thomann entschieden und bin damit bisher sehr zufrieden. Nach und nach werden nun auch meine anderen Gitarren damit ausgestattet.
Für mich ist das ein guter Weg: Nicht immer gleich etwas Neues kaufen, sondern erst einmal das vorhandene Equipment optimieren und reparieren, wo es nötig ist.
Und ganz ehrlich: Es macht auch Spaß, sich mit den eigenen Instrumenten zu beschäftigen und sie nach und nach so herzurichten, wie man sie haben möchte.
Repair first, optimize later.
Before I buy new hardware or another instrument, I want to see what I can improve with the equipment I already have.
One of the regular tuning machines on my Jackson was no longer working properly. So I took the opportunity to replace them with locking tuners.
I went for the affordable ones from Thomann and so far, I’m very happy with them. I’ll be fitting the same tuners to my other guitars one by one.
For me, this is a good approach: Instead of always buying something new, I want to optimize and repair the equipment I already have wherever necessary.
And honestly, it’s also fun to spend time with your own instruments and gradually get them exactly the way you want them.
