Zorn aka The Men of Hell – The Return of the Gods Reissue
The very first Zorn single was a milestone for me in terms of emo screamo driven hardcore, especially because of its emotional depth and dark intensity. With Men of Hell, the band pushed further into much more metallic territory without losing a single ounce of their anger and despair. On the contrary, the added heaviness only amplifies the atmosphere.
This reissue by Audiolith and Fucking Kill Records is therefore more than welcome. The new artwork looks great, even though it is a shame the lyrics are missing from the release. Overall, a strong reissue of an album that has lost none of its impact.

Schon die erste Zorn Single war für mich ein Meilenstein in Sachen Emo Screamo geprägtem Hardcore, vor allem wegen ihrer emotionalen Tiefe und düsteren Intensität. Mit Men of Hell wagte sich die Band in deutlich metallischere Gefilde, ohne dabei auch nur einen Funken ihrer Wut und Verzweiflung zu verlieren. Im Gegenteil, die zusätzliche Schwere verstärkt die Atmosphäre spürbar.
Die Neuauflage von Audiolith und Fucking Kill Records ist daher absolut willkommen. Das neue Artwork sieht großartig aus, auch wenn es schade ist, dass die Texte auf der Platte fehlen. Insgesamt ein starkes Reissue eines Albums, das nichts von seiner Wirkung verloren hat.
