Which DAW Sounds Best?
When I first started producing, I felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of DAWs on the market. Online forums often debated which one sounds the best. But shouldn’t a DAW aim to be as sonically neutral as possible?
In the analog world, it’s clear that gear can color the sound. But in the digital realm, I’ve never noticed differences in sound from an empty channel strip. Sure, there are plugins that emulate the tone of analog consoles—but that’s another story entirely.
I believe the best DAW choice depends on your personal needs. I eventually chose Logic Pro, as I use a Mac and found the overall package to suit me best.
What’s your take? Does one DAW really sound better than another, or is it all about workflow and features? Let me know!
