The Guitar You HAD to Have… But Rarely Play!

Which guitar did you absolutely need to own, even though you don’t use it regularly?
For me, it’s the Jackson JDR-94. Two years ago, I bought it purely for the prestige. Did I need another guitar? Nope! But this classic metal guitar was, back in the early ’90s, the ultimate symbol of heaviness for me – especially with that reversed headstock!
After some searching, I found a well-preserved one online at a reasonable price. Of course, I had to make some upgrades: I swapped out the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan Invader, and for a while, I even locked the tremolo system. Now the trem is back in action, and I’m enjoying the new possibilities it brings!
Even though the JDR-94 doesn’t get much playtime, I’m still thrilled to have it in my collection.
What about you? What’s the guitar you just HAD to own, even if it’s more of a collector’s piece than a workhorse? Let me know! ⬇️
