Last Friday, we finally released our third single, Deep Blue Grave! We really hope you love the track as much as we do. Today, I want to share a little about how the song came to life.
The main riff was born during a jam session at the end of one of our rehearsals. Unusually, I had tuned my guitar down to B (most of our songs are in standard tuning), and I had this riff stuck in my head. Pete jumped in and was instantly hooked. Honestly, I wasn’t convinced—it felt too repetitive to me, and I didn’t see much potential for a full song. But Pete’s persistence pushed us to keep developing it, and we wrote more riffs around that original idea.
We went back and forth for a while during rehearsals, trying to shape it into something more. Even though the groove started to grow on me, I struggled with how to approach the vocals, and it felt like something was still missing.
Once we recorded the first demos, the lyrics for Deep Blue Grave finally clicked, fitting perfectly with the mood and energy of the track. During recording, and especially in the mix, I decided to layer some additional textures with synths and overdubs, which really brought everything together.
In the end, I was 100% convinced—this song has become really important to us, and we’re excited to share it with you!
