Vinyl was the most beautiful medium. The artwork, the readable lyric sheets, the real goodies inside—there was something truly authentic about it. But everything changed when I was invited to a friend of my sister’s place to test out a new format that I had only read about in my hi-fi magazines: the CD.
Back in the ’80s, both CD players and discs were quite expensive, and the market was mostly filled with mainstream music. But when I heard Dire Straits‘ „Money for Nothing“ crystal clear and powerful like never before, I was hooked. It was a game-changer. A few years later, after saving up from a summer job, I bought my first CD player and CDs.
