Due to the volume levels during rehearsals, we decided to switch to practicing with headphones. Uncool? Not at all. Why didn’t we think of this sooner? For the first time, I could hear all the elements clearly separated and at a comfortable volume, without ear fatigue. Although every little mistake or imperfection becomes apparent, it quickly highlights areas for improvement. Our playing has become even tighter, and the overall feel is just right. I highly recommend this method of rehearsing and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us…
