Hey everyone! I wanted to share a bit about how my listening habits have evolved over the years and the different media that played a part in it.
In my early years, buying vinyl records of all the albums I wanted was unthinkable. My pocket money was just enough for blank cassettes and, if I was lucky, a vinyl record. Vinyl was the holy grail, especially for the artwork, but it often passed around like a prized trophy, getting copied onto tapes for everyone to enjoy.
The advantage? Affordable and regular access to new music. We loved trading tapes filled with our favorite songs, sharing personal recommendations with each other. Bands also benefited, as they could spread their demos cheaply. The cassette had the perk of being re-recordable, relatively durable, and most importantly, portableâplayed everywhere, especially on cassette recorders or Walkmans.
What about you? What experiences have you had with cassettes? Do you still listen to tapes today?
Also, a quick reminder: Our second single, „Sound of Vengeance,“ drops on July 26th! Please support us by pre-saving the track. The link is in our bio!
Thanks for sharing your memories!
