How did you start making music?
From an early age, while listening to music, I envisioned myself on stage with a microphone, letting my emotions run free and entertaining the audience. Eventually, I felt the urge to form a punk band with friends where I sang. Since I always had ideas for songs but couldn’t explain to the musicians what they should play, I taught myself a few chords on the guitar. At the end of that band, a hardcore band was formed, and they needed a guitarist. From then on, I delved deeply into the instrument, and singing took a backseat.
How did your passion for playing guitar develop?
As I mentioned before, through singing and songwriting. For a long time, the guitar was just a means to an end for me.
How have your musical listening habits evolved?
My musical journey is heavily influenced by early ’80s pop and electro. It then moved from punk to hardcore, experienced the early thrash metal days, found my love for crossover, and in the mid-’90s, emocore. Today, I listen to a wide range, from wave to dub and everything in between punk and extreme metal. Specifically, when it comes to guitar, I prefer thrash metal.
Do you have any musical role models for guitar or vocals?
Vocally, I’ve been influenced by Andrew Eldritch and Roger Miret, and on the guitar by Kerry King.
What instruments/equipment do you use in the studio?
I use Ibanez and Jackson guitars, an Ibanez bass, and Shure microphones.
Do you have specific equipment preferences?
