After we wrapped up our time with the hardcore band New Deal back in the late ’90s, I found myself at a crossroads. The inspiration seemed to have dried up, and I felt like I had said all I needed to say through music. Plus, there were other demands pulling me away—lack of guitar skills, everyday responsibilities, you name it.
Fast forward to about five years ago when my daughter started kindergarten. Suddenly, I found myself with more time on my hands. That’s when the itch to make music resurfaced. I toyed with the idea of a solo project, dabbling in electronic music and even entertaining the thought of learning music theory and notes before diving into keyboard playing.
But then, a twist of fate—I dusted off my old guitar, intending to brush up on some musical basics, only to find it in less-than-stellar condition… (to be continued)
